Frasher’s Second Chance – 1940 S. Stewart St. | Tues. – Sat. (11 P.M. – 5 P.M.) | 417-840-3410 | What you can find: Ceramics, electronic accessories, mugs, tobacco accessories, clothes, VHS tapes and DVDs | Facebook Group | Facebook Page
Frasher’s Second Chance is a refreshingly clean and organized establishment. At the door, I was greeted by a very friendly and helpful couple who informed us that all prices on merchandise were negotiable, something uncommon to find in thrift stores today.
Always eager to open their doors to new merchandise, Frasher’s Second Chance adds new items on the store floor, weekly, and takes donations on a daily basis. All the proceeds from Frasher’s Second Chance benefit Harmony House, a women’s shelter in the Springfield area that gives victims of domestic abuse, education and assistance.
What you can expect to find there: Ceramic animals such as a precious ceramic owl collection and a colorful collection of ceramic dragons posed perfectly next to a series of what I would describe as, “Santa Jedis.” (They look like Santa Clauses in Jedi robes.)
You can also find tech accessories at a discounted price, the greatest mug collection I’ve wondered upon (this adorable cow at the White House mug is begging to be used for a cup of tea this fall) and tobacco accessories.
