Next To New is located on 416 S. Kimbrough, across from Firehouse Subs. Sponsored by Christ Episcopal Church, Next To New specializes in clothes for older women and men, but they do have some children’s clothes as well. Employees are dedicated to making Next To New a clean atmosphere that proudly displays all of the unique clothing items they receive, daily.
What you can find: Lots of professional clothes. There are TONS of clothes that will get you job interview ready at a low price. Although they do have some casual clothes as well, this will definitely become my go-to place for professional attire. They have really awesome brands such as Ann Taylor Loft, BCBG Maxazria, Merona and more. They had a ton of men’s suits and slacks that are reasonably priced as well. Honestly, forget any other thrift store for professional wear.
I had a great experience at Next To New. The staff was incredibly nice and very helpful with creating content for the site. Although the prices of clothes are more than the average thrift store, (I bought a wrap dress that was originally from Target for $10 and Harem Pants from Ann Taylor Loft for $12), they overcompensate in quality of clothes. Rose Vinson, manager of Next To New explained that the clothes they receive, “must meet certain requirements, such as no holes, getting items dry cleaned first,” and more.
Proceeds to Next To New go into programs all over Springfield. Christ Episcopal Church decides at their own discretion where profits go towards. The store is staffed by members of Christ Episcopal Church on a volunteer basis.
